Husavik Hostel

Hostel Husavik

Hostelling International

Welcome to our hostel

Hostel Berg is located in Sandi, Aðaldal, surrounded by magnificent nature and a diverse bird life. The hostel is at the edge of Aðaldalshraun, a lava field that is particularly beautiful; it is also covered with low birch and bushes. For those wishing to explore extraordinary natural sites, Berg hostel is the ideal base.

The hostel has a well-equipped kitchen for preparing meals, a common room with TV, Internet access and a garden. The nearest town is Húsavík (20km) so travellers will need to either bring food with them or drive to Húsavík to get supplies.

There are not many parts of the country that have as many gems of nature as the north-east of Iceland. In Húsavík you can go whale watching in Skjálfandi bay, known for its vivid marine life, and nearby are the museum at Grenjaðarstaðir, Laxárvirkjun and Goðafoss waterfall.

amazing hostel, you can see seals nearby, you have to go on the gravel road to the hostel around 6 km (I'm no sure), but it's not so bad one

Su Google maps l'ubicazione dell'ostello è errata.

Very good accommodation close to lots of nature highlights of Iceland. A bit remote but very calming and relaxing. The guy at the reception was nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Getting to us

Getting to us

Out of the Husavik airport turn left onto road 85 direction Akureyri/Myvatn. Turn soon right into Road 852 - there are road signs to "Berg" and "Sandur" - and drive all the 7km to our hostel. See map here:
IMPORTANT! DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE'S MAPS/GPS!! Google doesn't know road 852 and will get you lost... Rely on a good old paper map and on road signs. :) From road 85 between Husavik and Akureyri/Myvatn take road 852 - there are road signs to "Berg" and "Sandur" - and drive all the 7km to our hostel.
