The most friendly and helpful staff I've met at any hostel. Great advice on walks and other activities. Free bus to and from the door to most places in the valley. Love the outdoor space, lounge and dining areas for hanging out chatting to others. Thoroughly enjoyed the music in the common areas. Great breakfast! Would love to stay all summer - I'll be back!

these guys are just amazing, the place is beautiful, only drawback is the distance to reach the city centrum, but it is a nice walk!

Comfortable rooms, great views from any window, spacious common rooms, tasty dinners, helpful staff, buses to the center run often enough. Would be happy to stay there every time I'd go visiting Chamonix.

I've enjoyed visiting this hotel for several years and will continue to do so into the future. It's not the most modern youth hostel I've stayed in and it could do with a refresh, but its great location and the city views more than make up for that. However management does seem to have become rather lax recently. There's an accumulation of basic maintenance that needs attention: several detached toilet seats, leaking taps, a vanity unit coming away from the wall, a few graffiti tags and cobwebs, hammering pipes, etc. And it would also be helpful if management curbed some of the late night (early morning) noise by some of the guests. Hopefully these issues will be addressed soon.

I enjoyed my recent stay at Auberge de Jeunesse in Les Pèlerins for skiing, which was the first time that I had visited this area. My French is not very good at present, but the staff and some of the other guests were quite good at speaking English (I will try and improve my French.). It was good to be able to hire the ski equipment at the Hostel and also buy the lift pass. However I would like to make a few suggestions for improvements: 1) The hostel looks to be in need of a refurbishment, especially the lounge area and bedrooms; 2) Please install more power points in the bedrooms (ideally one by each bed), as there was only one in my room; 3) The showers and toilets are in reasonable condition with fairly new partitions. However, the toilets doors open inwards, which make it very difficult to anyone to squeeze in and out of. The shower temperature was very variable and uncontrollable locally, with rather cool water on one day and very hot on other occasions. I would prefer if there were separate male and female toilets/showers. The washbasin in the shower room was rather small and only really suitable for hand-washing. It sometimes isn't convenient to use the washbasins in the bedroom, as it would disturb other guests. 4) The food served in the dining room was good, with some excellent items. However, would it be possible to have a small self-catering kitchen to at least be able to make hot drinks and snacks, especially outside of the main meal times. 5) The opening hours of the Reception is rather restrictive, and only open in the morning and early evening. Please can the reception be open longer, especially earlier in the afternoon. 6) The water pressure is too high in the washbasins, so is easy to splash. 7) It would be better if there were lockers in each bedroom, which is now typical in most Hostels.

Hi and thank you very much for the feedback. Be sure most of what you're saying is going to be improved by the beginning of next winter. 1) beds and couch fournitures are going to be partly changed. 2) 20 powerpoints will be added in the rooms (as a start) 3) 1 bathroom is going to be reniewed in october, the other one in next may. 4) We re planning to open a self cattered kitchen by may 2020, open only for the summer. 5) Reception will be oppenned in the afternoon as well starting in june. 6) First time i hear about the water pressure, we'll check that fast. 7) We still didnt find a solution for the lockers as most of the time the rooms are private, but we do have lockers in the luggage room. We'll still try to find solutions fo that. Hopping you still enjoyed your holidays, we thank you again for those detailed comments. Regards. Thomas
