Welcome to our hostel

Ängelsberg lies beside Strömsholm’s canal, one of Sweden’s oldest canals, which runs through an old mining village and cuts across fourteen lakes. Our hostel is a charming turn-of-the-century villa with turrets and pinnacles and was built by an iron trader in 1896. Behind the special architecture of the villa is the same architect who designed the Hallwyllska palace and the National Museum in Stockholm. The hostel has views over lake Åmänningen and there’s a bathing beach and floating sauna just ten minutes' walk away. The lake has one of central Sweden’s most pristine canoeing waters, which in winter becomes a paradise for long-distance skaters.
