Amazingly nice owners and beautiful grounds. I went with my significant other and we enjoyed the privacy compared to many other hostels. The breakfast here is fantastic and I wish I could eat it every day- best fried plantains I've ever had. The only fault we found was that the location is a bit out of town, so you need to either get a cab or (my recommendation) rent a car to get into town and back. Renting a car is easy and very well priced.

No indication of being a hostel whatsoever. It's a HOTEL ! It was fine tho, except they had zero record of our reservation, but were going to call someone about it, no feedback on that, but charged us the walk up rate, not the reserved rate and the deposit went out the window too. Lady that was there did not understand much if any English, so pointless to talk to her about it, the guy who was there was gone in the am. Good breakfast, wifi was acceptable

Through this note I would like to clarify our guests some opinions that have been provided for other visitors:

What would you expect for the price of their rooms for ONE NIGHT that you were staying at my hostel?. You had private rooms, private bathroom with hot water, 2 and 3 beds in their rooms, linens and towels, typical Costa Rican breakfast (coffee, tea, orange juice, cheese, egg, banana, bread and gallo pinto-beans-rice) or also you could have breakfast that included coffee, tea, orange juice, eggs any style, toast, ham or sausage and fruit of the season. Also in the price are included free parking, free wifi in the room and at the reception.
So again I ask to Mr./Mrs. Uta explain what service and facilities you would expect when you paid $ 117.00 in Jardines Arenal Hostel for 2 rooms and five people, please help with your advice to improve our service. thanks
