This isn't really a hostel, its a hotel. There's no dorms and, sadly, little in the way of a hostel's communal spirit. However, as a hotel, this is a very cheap way of getting a good room in the city centre (right on the bank of the Danube) and as a ship, it has quite a quirky feeling about it. I'd recommend this for a couple looking for an inexpensive city break.

Attraction tip

Buy a Budapest card. I bought one for 72 hours. Free public transport (metro, busses, tram, trolley busses, free transfer to the airport. Included in the Budapest card is also free entrance to seven museums. They are closed on Monday. A good day to take the cheap train to Siofok, located on Lake Balaton. I'm a semi-pro photographer. Visit the old Buda-side. The castle, a view to the Anchor Bridge, etc. At the Pest-side take a look at the Opera. Visit the therms and Heroes square.
