Konstanz hostel sits by the water’s edge of Lake Konstanz offering views of the Alps in the background on clear days. The hostel features both indoor and outdoor recreational activities, making this the perfect place to socialise and have fun.

Accommodations are in 44 en suite four-bed and six-bed rooms. There are also 12 rooms for the carers or supervisors of groups. The hostel also features 3 games and recreational rooms, a bistro, disco room, video projector, pool table, library, TV, overhead slide projector, table football, table tennis and a video recorder. Outside the hostel there’s a football goal, volleyball, table tennis, chess, street ball and outdoor seating for about 80 people.

The historical town is just a few minutes away from the hostel by bus. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Baden-Württemberg, The Flower Island of Mainau which is known for its beautiful blossoms, exotic plants and awe-inspiring giant trees, or the Pfahlbaumuseum Unterhuldingen (Lake Dwelling Museum).

I tried on a number of occasions on the afternoon of 28 December (before and after 3 pm) to ask for directions and the 'phone was not answered. As the tourist information office in Konstanz was closed it took a bit of work to find out where the hostel was. Obviously I should have spent more time before leaving checking this, but I had enough to do. Once I got there it was a great place to stay,

Das Abendessen war sehr, sehr gut. Es gab u.a. eine große Auswahl an frischen Salaten sowie frisch gebratenen, sehr leckeren Fisch. Die meisten Restaurants kommen nicht an diese Qualität heran. Man schmeckt, dass das Essen frisch zubereitet wird.
