While not the closest to the city centre, YHA Manchester is set in very nice surroundings and is a comfortable walk from all the main sites of Manchester. I had but a brief stay, but enjoyed the city and the hostel immensely!

Overall value for money. Centrally located and within walking distance to city center. However the communal kitchen need some sprucing to maintain the high standard of cleanliness of Hostelling International.

I was great staying at YHA Manchester. Its location is best suited for the city tour even by walk. I had a great trip altogether.

A little out of the way from shops and restaurants. Very close to the fascinating Museum of Science and Technology. This part of England was the industrial heart & birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, the Railway Revolution, the telecomunications, Flight, Information, and the Genetic Revolution (DNA) and just about every other invention except the internet (so it sees at the museum!) It is very easy to spend the whole day here, and it is all FREE. Or you couldmvisit Man Utd for GBP18.
