Located on the Danube cycle path in the centre of the historic city of Krems, this bicycle hostel has room for 52 guests - and offers secure storage for bikes.

Rooms have 4-6 beds and facilities include cable TV, table tennis and a kitchen serving pre-ordered lunches and dinners.

As well as exploring the many cycle paths, you can visit the Wachau Valley, situated between Krems and Melk (40 km upstream), which is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Other noteable places include: Göttweig and Melk monastery, Dürnstein, a medieval castle/ruins which served as a prison for Richard Lionheart (Richard I of England), the wine towns of Spitz and Weissenkirchen and the nearby ruins of Hinterhaus.

A bit far from the train station, but Krems is small enough that it doesn't really matter. Breakfast is coffee, tea, and rolls with bread or jam. If you want something more elaborate, you'll have to go elsewhere.
