The hostel is located at excellent location! Cleanliness & security is No.1 and the ambiance is very nice...well maintained and also the court yard segments are well divided and cleaned at all time. Restaurant is excellent, however personally I feel their breakfast menu can be improved further as it's quite limited and small portion for the amount we pay for. The reception supervisor (male with glasses) was not a friendly person but the other supporting younger staffs are very warm and friendly. They are ready to help and advice, while the male supervisor may brush you aside if he could... I had a good stay at this YHI...thank you all for the warm hospitality!

The 7 Sages Hostel was one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in around the world. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Special thank-you to Cici who went out of her way to help me by letting me use her mother's cell phone to get a wake-up call in the morning.

Wunderschönes traditionelles chinesisches Yard Gebäude. Sehr nahe zum Bahnhof gelegen, und daher ideal für Ausflüge. Die Angestellten des hostel waren überaus sehr freundlich und jederzeit sehr hilfsbereit. Das hostel eigene Restaurant hat ein grosse Auswahl an sehr leckeren Speisen zu sehr guten konditionen.

guys from 0 to 100 and i gave u a 20000 !!! ther is no place as beautifull as this with the Charlie´s Angel in reception, so preatty and usefull girls, rooms from a dream and clean... i could have eat on the floor , YES PEOPLE !!! THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME BACK MILLIONS TIMES, VERY GOOD IS LITTLE !!! EXTRA SUPER PERFECT !! NORADRENALINA MY EVER EVER BEST 3 DAYS BIRTHDAY TIME IN 41 YEARS OLD

Hostel Overview
The hostel is located next to the old city wall and is about 500m from railway station only. The hostel is in a classic Chinese row houses community - a real historical architecture in this ancient city. The property has been in existence for 100 years. The whole setting is romantic and its design is based on row titles and white wall, timber windows, straight path through circular arch, courtyard planted with trees and scrubs etc. The characteristics of this architecture tend to coincide closely with the history of Chinese culture. The original site where these row houses situate, dates back to the TANG dynasty (618AD) and was developed by a banker at the beginning of last century. It contains 10 courts and the hostel is in count number 5 & 6. In the modern history, it was also the command post for one of the renowned red army troops based in Xian. The new hostel is situated in, and being part of, the former ?Eight Route army Xian Office?. It went through being, in different period of time, underground revolution activities post, red army liaison office and a reception centre for people involved in the war fighting against Japanese during the first half of last century. A memoral museum is just next to the hostel within the same compound. When you walk into this community, you will find no more concrete jungle and the surrounding is replaced by old house of bricks and tiles, green lawn and tall trees, which bring you the past and present both exist at the same moment in time.
