Great hostel with excellent, helpful staff. The first night I got there, they had Indian food brought in. It was easy to sign up and have a good meal delivered. Excellent location near the water and near just about everything else a traveler wants to see in Wellington. Love this place.

The staff is very friendly and the location is excellent.The kitchen is big and spacious. They had lost our reservation but upgraded us to a twin private room for no extra charge which, was exellent. Great hostel.

Each room should have lockers with doors. Everyone has valuables that need to be locked up. A commercial locker is not accessible continually. Many NZ hostels do not have individual lockers.

Arrived after hours, as I had already notified them. Night watchman didn't respond to intercom for half an hour. I had to call numbers I found behind the desk to contact the proprieter.

We arrived at about 6.30pm and had to wait for ages in the queue to check-in. It is a very busy hostel! We booked a double room, which was small but nice and clean with comfortable beds. The toilets and shower were down the corridor. The main downside was that the room overlooked lots of others in the central building well. We had to draw the curtains for privacy. The hostel is not quite city centre, but is in a convenient location for the marina and restaurants. We were off on the Picton ferry next day and there was a very handy shuttle service to the ferry terminal right from the door for just $3.
