We were unaware that a wedding was going to be taking place in the hostel. The wedding guests took over the whole of the ground floor and there was nowhere for my family to sit. Our room was on a busy main road and the kitchen was so small.

A lovely hostel. Let down a little by it's tiny and not particularly well stocked kitchen.

The hostel is located around 800m from the right of the Voss station,and the left lane while bump into the cross road. Although the living expense in Bergen is high. However, staying in this hostel let you feel like staying in 5 star hotel....the scenery from the window is brilliant !The breakfast is perfect!

Voss hostel was a very pleasant location to stay for a week in the Sognefjord region. The breakfast is one of the greatest moment of the day in the hostel and we tried the restaurant which was of very good quality. The staff was available and provided us proper information. With a more spontaneous smile, it would be PERFECT. Everything was clean, including the guest kitchen, which was well maintained. The possibility of hiring canoe, bikes, etc ... is a good idea as well. One small point of improvement would be to provide at the hostel some description-sheets of walks around Voss.

We look forward to welcoming you at Voss hostel, located in the Western part of Norway surrounded by beautiful nature and perfect for those guests wanting to get out and explore.Voss is the perfect spot for everyone who’s interested in sports, nature and activities. There is something for everyone’s taste! The varied mountain terrain around Voss makes it an excellent base for walks and mountain hikes. There are plenty of lakes and rivers for fishing and kayaking, and good terrains for cycling and golfing. The more adventurous can try out sky diving, paragliding, rafting, river boarding and white water paddling. We are happy to help you book activities at no extra charge.
During the yearly event Ekstremsportveko (the Extreme Sport Week) there are competitions in acro paragliding, BASE, rafting, whitewater kayaking, climbing and much more. Voss also hosts several well-known cultural events like the Voss Jazz Festival and the Osa Festival.
The hostel is beautifully situated by the lake Vangsvatnet, 800 m from the train and bus station in Voss. We take special pride in making a breakfast with ecological products from Finnegarden farm, and our summer café offers evening meals during high season. You can rent bikes at the hostel - and if you are up for a swim in the lake we are happy to warm up our sauna for you!
Winter season lasts from December to April, when Voss Resort and Myrkdalen ski resort offer great alpine skiing facilities, and endless options for ski touring.
In December and January we offer accommodation without breakfast. Nok 40,- per person is deducted from the booking rate on check-in.
