Oh my what can I say. I have stayed in many hostels and this one is by far the best. Staff was very friendly and informative, location of the hostel is great, the place seemed clean the whole time. I will definitely be back :-)

Friendly, tidy place at a good location in the city with satisfactory free breakfast and Wifi. Bring your own padlock and towel :)

Some gentlements at the desk were very efficient helpful and very friendly, except one women at the desk all are lazy and ignorent. They don,t bother to find out surtain intonation for me. Once they kept me waiting so long when I asked hot water. They were just chatting to each other not even busy with customers.

The sign of the hostel is a bit small, wifi signal is hard to catch in the evening hours due to so many people logged on.

The shower water is not very hot, and each room only one power socket is too less. There are 16 people inside.

Since it is a monumental building, there are not a lot of plugs. To compromise we offer our guests to let devices be charged in our back office, you can pick it up 24/7. Very very dissapointed that we weren't warned there was no kitchen at the hostel. We bought food that we couldnt eat and had to just throw away. The breakfast times were obviously very short and very early to make sure lots of people would miss it. Overall you were not a cheap hostel, and we were all unbelievably dissapointed with the cleanliness, facilities.

Dear Lydia, Thank you for your response. I am sorry to hear that the cleanliness and facilities were not to your liking. You can see on the website of HIhostels.com that we do not have a kitchen. This is because of the health and cleanliness regulations. However the reception can heat up meals in the microwave for you. About the rates, or hostel is not more expensive then any other hostel in Amsterdam for the weekend. I can not find your complaint in your reservation.
