I liked this hostel. It was very clean. And the host! He was so nice and kind, he gave the brief explanation and the map about Hvar island which was amazingly helpful.

We had issues with our double room - it was very small, the wardrobe was completely broken, our shared balcony door and shutters did not lock which we thought a security issue. When we notified the receptionist about this, he basically shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. The bathrooms were filthy without toilet paper and soap regularly and it was also very dirty under the beds with ants.

No air conditioning. Kitchen was under equipped. No one available at the reception desk at many instances, although they claimed 24/7 reception. Location was good (although difficult to find) and the island was definitely worth a visit.

Information in english, refilling of toiletpaper in the bathroom and possibility to get hold of the reseptionist without waiting for too long would have been impovements that would have made our stay a lot better.

The staff were super friendly and did so much to make us feel welcome. The bathrooms left a little to be desired as far as cleanliness was concerned, but they were also very busy at the time we were there. The breakfasts were awful. Some form of cheap hot dog or pressed meat wasn't good at all. We would would have preferred bread with cold sliced meats and cheese instead.

The town is quiet and relaxing and the hostel is in a good location. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Stari Grad (Antic name Faros) is a historic town on one of the most beautiful Adriatic islands - Hvar. Stari Grad is a city of cultural monuments. The most famous are: the church of St. John, the church of St. Jerome, the church of St. Nicolas, remains of the church of St. Lucia, the church of St. Roch, the church of St. Peter and the Dominican Monastery (in this monastery there is museum with the oldest stone-inscriptions on Croatian ground, many archaeological findings from Pharos as well as other precious things), the parish church of St. Stephen andTvrdalj (fortified castle of a poet Petar Hektorovic). Stari Grad is also a modern tourist center with great gastronomic offer and many sports and recreation facilities. The sea surrounding Stari Grad is well known for its reach sea flora and fauna. There are many wonderful beaches in the town and the surroundings.Hostel Sunce is located in the center of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, in the city area known as Siberia.
Hostel is equipped with kitchen, dining room, bar and rest area.
We offer accommodation in single, double and 3-bedded rooms.
Guests have access to the wireless internet.
Hostel is perfect for all age groups, especially children and youth groups, families, seniors, sports clubs and backpackers in addition to all individual guests.

There is organized bus shuttle service from the airport to the port of Split where in the offices of Jadrolinija you can find the necessary information on boat lines to the island of Hvar. |
