The living room lighting, near the sofas, could improve a bit. It was quite dark. I missed some towel hangers just outside the shower rooms. The design of the hostel is quite good. The living room looks great and gives a very good first impression.

Great Hostel! opened in 2011, so still pretty new. Food is so-so, but lots of local options. Not downtown, but in Shanghai you don't need to be! next to the subway

I stayed just one night for flight change. It is hard to find the place at begin however it's location does have some benefit. First, it's in the city but has a very quiet atmosphere. Second it is close to a Pu dong airport bus terminal. ( 10 mins by taxi at jin an so )

We have enjoyed our stay in the hostel. The staff was very friendly. Easy to talk to and very helpfull. We'd also loved the fact that the hostel had some sort of homely environment. We felt home right away. Hope to come back in the future!

The front desk staff didn't know much about Shanghai or public transportation. The kitchen and bar-staff were unfamiliar with the menu and were easily confused with small changes. The room was really nice and the common-space/bar was really cool. Probably better for groups or individuals, not for couples or families.

Quite noisy in the rooms due to the door locking system (too often it sounds like an alarm even opening with the right keycard)And it's not only "your" door, you can hear the bip-bip-bip from all your neighbours too. When buying a phonecard there(only usable in Shanghai)ask reception to make it clear if there is an extra charge (apart from the card)to use their phone. Depending on who's in reception it will be one way or the other.

Newish and has lots of space.Lounge area can fill up in evenings. Good food if eating in. Out of tourist area bustle, but close to metro, City shopping mall. Computers available

| Metro: | Take metro line 2 to ZhongShanPark Station,exit from GATE 7(metro line 2 starts at 5:52am,closes at 11:07pm),make a left turn,go along the road till you find a GAS STATION (China Sinopec),then turn left,next the GAS STATION is KAIYUAN SCHOOL,and we're just next to KAIYUAN SCHOOL in an alley,it's an orange building.It will take about 10 minutes all the way from ZhongShanPark Station to our hostel. Take metro line 3(metro line 3 starts at 6:19am,closes at 11:29pm) to West YanAn Road Station,exit from GATE 1 and turn right immediately,across KaiXuan Road, then turn left and walk less than 20 meters, you'll see a small park's entrance . Enter and follow the path straight through the park.Arriving on ZHAOHUA main road,make a right turn and walk about 30 metres, turn left at the corner and go down the street about 60 metres.Turn left again when you find an alley.We are just in this alley and our hostel is an orange building. It will take you only 5 minutes in total although it's a little hard to show you the route by words. |
