This is lovely hostel except they don't hire out bicycles so i had to ring around and go all the way to Le Tour Travellers Rest Hostel to get one. They also don't provide wifi in the rooms which i would really prefer than listening to the annoying rock music in the bar area and having to smell cigarettes! Also, there was no toilet paper provided! The only reason i put a fair for staff was because of only one staff member who yelled loudly all the time to everybody and wouldn't listen to his guests. I was pleased that there was a fridge and cheap laundry service but it is very nice and quiet.

I loved it! The only minor could be the cold, as almost every hostel in Shanghai it doesnot have a proper heating. Only air con heating can not take the cold away. But extra layers cloth will keep you warm as well :)

The blanket is not so clean, and the flushing of the toilet is weak. Generally ok in other aspects.

Very friendly staff. Excellent location. Only let off is expensive food at cafe. No free breakfast :-(

This is our 2nd stay since 2 years ago n we enjoy it that's the reason we came back to stay. But after this stay we'll not be back to stay here. Staff were rude n unfriendly. They just can't show simple courtesy of hello, please, TQ n even goodbye.

Food and drinks were expensive and staff were unfriendly and rude. In this case this will discourage customer to hang around the common area to interact n meet new friends. Staff do not even bother to say hello, please, thanks and even bye. Very very rude n unfriendly. This is my second stay in this hostel over 2 years. Previous trip was really good that's why we are back in the same hostel this year.

A great location next to peoples square. Its very easy to get out and see the city from there. The room was comfortable enough, with a good shower just outside. The only downside is the internet which is painfully slow at times.
Hostel Overview
The hostel is located at a quiet side street in the central part of city, near People Square (Rem Min Guang Chang) and the Opera House, where most of the transports passing by. The building itself is a typical Shanghaiese dwelling, which offers an interesting experience to hostellers for appreciating old Shanghai residential culture. Hostel can be easily reached by underground and airport buses. Within walking distance, hostellers can visit many of the places of interest. During the festival or national day, flay raising ceremony and fireworks can be seen from the balcony of the hostel. Hostel provides bar, canteen, launderette, Internet access, ticketing, travel services etc.Online Booking Price and Reception Selling Price are slightly different.If the online booking date is expired,the next days' price should be the Reception Selling Price.
