The staff did not have a key to the kitchen and the late arrival of the staff who prepare the breakfast meant I was unable to access my own food for breakfast.

Biggest problem was not being able to use the kitchen to prepare any meals. What's up with that? I thought it was a hostel. What's the point of having a full kitchen if only staff seem to be able to use it for cooking.

Someone in the staff screwed up my reservation and some other people's as well. Long story short, they didn't have the room I booked 4 months ago. This is the 2nd time I stay here, and the previous was a good experience. So for now, it's a 50/50 in my list....

The breakfast is REALLY BAD. The Hostel is not dirty, but it'd be more clean. The location is good, because of the metro stations and the proximity to the O'Higgings stadium. The neighbourhood is not nice at all.

HI Santiago is located 1km from the railway station, a 10 minute walk to the city centre’s main square and close to “Los Heroes” subway which will get you connected almost everywhere in the city. The hostel is located in a very special area of the city with a lot of cafes, restaurants and bars with a very busy nightlife.

HI Santiago hostel provides easy access to museums and major sights. There are 120 beds and breakfast is included. Facilities include; Cable TV, video, library, laundry and table tennis, free WIFI connection and computers with internet access are available, luggage room, parking and more.
