The municipality is located in the southwest of the province of Segovia, in the north slope of Sierra de Guadarrama, and it is the way into Castilla y León coming from Madrid, through Alto de León (National VI Road) and the tunnels of Guadarrama (La Coruña A6 Motorway). The municipality is the largest in the province, with 21,610 hectares.
The main rivers flowing through the municipality are: Moros River, Gudillos River and Voltoya River.
The municipality is located in a natural amphitheatre, surrounded by mountains. The main peaks are: Cabeza Líjar 1,823 mts, Alto del León 1,511 mts, La Peñota 1,945 mts, Montón de Trigo 2,155 mts, Pico del Pasapán 2,001 mts, Cabeza Reina 1,479 mts, Cabeza Renales 1,757 mts, Cerro del Caloco 1,567 mts and Pico del Oso 2,196 mts.
