Hostel Overview
Borgsjö is a very old district. To this place came Olaf the Holy with his army in 1030 and still goes there to quench their thirst from the source according to legend, he opened the source with his staff. Today the area is a tranquil oasis with cultural treasures and adventures around the corner.The hostel is housed in some of Burgher houses, church stables and the former vaktmästarbostaden on Borgsjö community center, the hub of the area's vibrant local history. In summer it is much activity in the field and in December is the traditional Christmas market place with beautiful handicrafts.
The surrounding area offers great opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. There are swimming within walking distance and several nature reserves in the area. Borgsjö is a paradise for mushroom lovers - both from near and far, and a unique flora including orchids and other rarities are nearby.
