Planned to stay 4 days but enjoyed the hostel so much I cancelled my hotel and stayed an additional night. The staff were amazing. Felt at home. Clean 7 safe. Will return for the carnival in 2013.

The bathrooms arrangement is difficult. guys and girls use the same washbasins, The toilets and bathrooms are on the ground floor.Going all the way down to use the toilet or shower was tedious. Noisy bar sounds from bar inside the hostel Everything else was excellent.

Although it was only one night I arrived early in the morning and was allowed to book in, have a shower and get some breakfast. This is unusual as normally there is a check-in time that is much later than 8am! The hostel is close to main activities and transport that made it easy for me on such a short visit. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

A very friendly hostel, very nice lady who does the breakfasts, 3 friendly bars across the street, 2 blocks from metro, bus stop a block away, Botafogo beach with an amazing view about 5 minutes walk away.

Not too sure how to rate this hostel. so let's go point by point. The location is ok, you are next to the bus station to corcovado and not far from the sugar loaf. you are also not far from the subway. the security was good. they provide locker and have a "guarded" door. The confort & shower were slightly below what i expect from Hi_hostel. Breakfast was also below. in fact there is one thing that i didn't like too much in this hostel, but my opinion might be biased, is that i didn't find people gathering in one place and chat and have fun, it looked very individualist. moreover i didn't find any activity or organised hostel tour which is usally the best way to gather people together. So if i had to go to rio again i would try another one but don't get me wrong it's still ok.

Brother's hostel is centrally located in the heart of Rio de Janerio. It is one of the network of hostels in Brazil, and one of nine hostels in the Rio de Janerio area. For more information on the many attractions nearby the hostel please read below.Brothers’ Hostel is near almost everything that is really important and interesting in Rio de Janeiro. Contact us (brothershostel.com) for more valuable carnival packages. By foot, we are 3 minutes from the beautiful Botafogo Beach, 5 minutes from Parque do Flamengo, a good place for jogging, if you like to do exercises before starting to have fun, 12 minutes from the famous Copacabana Beach and 3 minutes from the subway station Flamengo (the best transportation in Rio). By bus or subway, we are 10 minutes from Rio downtown, the oldest part of the city, where you can visit St. Sebastian Cathedral, St. Benedict Monastery and take the tram to St. Theresa a famous historical district . In 20 minutes you arrive Ipanema, with the Two Brothers Mountains at the back, and the most gorgeous girls... Hold on, girls... Guys too. If you are coming for the Carnival, it’s 5 minutes by car from Sambodromo, where you can see the most dazzling celebration of the world, the parades of samba schools. Or you can choose one of the Street Carnival Bands, follow it like a small parade, dancing and meeting people. Most of them are near Brothers Hostel. Wear your costume and feel the vibration! Talking about parties, it’s 10 minutes by bus or subway from the well known bohemian district of Lapa, where the bars and clubs thrill with live music, pool tables and beautifull people. There you will see the famous Arcs, built in 1750. So, there are hundreds of options, but if you prefer only to pour some beers, Dafoca bar, on the other side of the street, at half a minute walking, is full of college students (there are three universities in the area) ready to tell you how a Carioca (the natives from Rio de Janeiro) like to spend their time and what’s their lifestyle in the most marvelous city of Brazil.
Inside the Brothers Hostel there’s the “Shelter”, a tematic bar (photo), ‘with the world at your feet’. There you can have a tequila, a shot of whisky, beers from many different countries, but we recommend you to try the Caipirinha, a typical Brazilian drink with cachaça. You can also play in the pool table or watch the most famouses football championships.
If you need banks, supermarkets, drugstores, bus stops, subway stations and other facilities, you can find everything you need around the Brothers’ Hostel.

| Bus: | From the Bus Terminal Station - Take the 126 bus (take of at the last stop on Pinheiro Machado Street), after that you'll be in a 5 minutes walking distance from the hostel |
| Metro: | Go to the beach street, take the left when you get there and go ahead until you see Rua Marques de Abrantes. Follow it and in 4 or 5 minutes you'll be at Flamengo Subway Station. |
| Location: | The hostel is located on Farani Street (Botafogo Neighbour), well known by most Cariocas. Following the road you can reach Botafogo Beach.
