This hostel is in a good location and the bus into the city is not far and offers a good service. I left my car at the hostel and only used the public transport. the supermarket opposite the hostel is well stocked and not expensive. The room was clean but the appearance of the bathrooms wasn't as good - in fairness though, there were many many people staying there at the time. I would choose it again.

The breakfast was the only bad part. The coffee is undrinkable. Probably one of the worst breakfasts I've had in any hostel.

Friendly staff,a bit difficult to find the place; great view of the coast from the hostel. Breakfast very minimal in quality and quantity. overall an Ace for the value for money!

We don't have been very happy with the personnel, or maybe just one of them. The location of the hostel is not ideal, because too far from the centre of the city. To reach the places the first night we needed lots of time, because there are not enough indications and signal along the streets. Furthermore the coffe, during the breakfast need to improve a lot.

I loved this hostel! We were actually the only 3 people in the hostel on a Sunday night, and service was great! Beautiful building and view, great staff, great breakfast! The only downside was that it was far from the metro and far from the city center and we didn't have time to figure out the bus system. Maybe the hostel could provide handouts on how to take the bus into the city center?

It is REALLY far away from the city. You have to bus in if you want to see any of the old stuff. But, if you´re only going to Porto for the beach/sitting in the sun this would totally be fine. The breakfast is pretty good and everything seemed clean. They only have 1 pc to use and the wi-fi was a bit spotty (but if you walked out into the hall you could always pick it back up). it might make more sense to spend a little more and stay in the old city rather than pay for transportation at least twice a day.

There was a very noisy (@Potuguese) school party who continued with their noise until about 03.00 on one morning. The adult staff with the party did not appear to be aware of the noise and disturbance and, perhaps more importantly, neither did the person on night security. I filed a long written report at the time. About my only difficulty in the ten very enjoyable days which I spent in Portugal and to which I intend to return, perhaps even this year - using the hostels of course

A real deception... Not at all the "spirit hi hostel" as we like... no conviviality and far from the center of the city...

Hostel Overview

As soon as you get there, you'll realize this won't be your last visit to the city. There's just too much to see. Since you're staying at the Porto Hostel, we will be honoured to serve you breakfast with a panoramic view of the Douro estuary and after the grub, check out the town. Take in the different styles of local architecture, zigzag across the bridges, taste the Port wine in one of the many cellars, mix with the people in Bolhão marketplace, count the number of steps as you climb to the top of Clérigos' Tower and take a souvenir photo in Avenida dos Aliados. If you're a football freak, then FC Porto and Boavista stadiums are waiting to hear you scream wildly. Casa da Música, Serralves, Rosa Mota pavillion and the coliseum should have several events scheduled to suit your taste. At night, the Ribeira and the many discos in town are a clear synonym for fun unlimited. All this and much more. Porto is a cool town.
