The location is a little way out of town, but the bay it is on is beautiful - if being in Palermo centro isn't a concern, this is definitely a great place to stay.

A super place to stay just outside the city and right near to the sea Efficiently run by cheerful staff. Secure car park or there is a bus service right next to the hostel. Palermo is full on so retreating to the hostel is an oasis of calm for those who want the benefit of being close to a big city without the hubub of staying in right in it

This place is about 10 miles and two long bus journeys from Palermo railway station. It's not a suitable place unless you are travelling by car or like to spend hours a day getting to know urban bus systems.

The hostel is fine. The breakfast is downright mean, restaurant staff need a lesson in hospitality. no fruit,no juice nasty packaged food, not even fresh bread. The address should be SFERRCAVALLO,NOT PALERMO.The gps needs to be specific;bus conductors also need more accuracy

I think that it is easy to use what is worth using, and it is considered. There is a tendency for an admission fee to be cheap as the museum which is worth seeing. Since female safety, employment, and work have started a female user's existence, I want a woman to get her to send data to it variously in advance, and to do my best in it. Even if it arrives at what time, the lighting of the room should attach a night-light all the time so that he can stay without reservation. The person sensitive to noises, such as packing instead of a voice, should use a single room. The floor only for a woman should be prepared except a single room, and the male should make keep off.

Directions to hostel lacked sufficient detail. Reception unable to give specific directions to Port of Palermo.

I absolutely could not fault the Baia del Corallo hostel. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, and seemed to genuinely enjoy having visitors. The location of the hostel was ideal, looking straight out onto the sea, next door to an amazing pizzeria, and right by a bus stop.

Hostel Overview

Palermo, the light-coloured houses, the illuminated trees like swarms of fireflies: this was Goethe's impression, trying to decribe a city that fills travellers eyes. When the look can wander from a wonderful gulf to the mountains, from superb palaces to rare monuments, when the spectacle of nature merges with architecture, travellers eyes stop judging, just observe. A city that just for its colours, climate and scents was loved indistinctly by Phoenicians, Normans, Romans and Arabs. Going out of the hostel, there are many possible itineraries, almost infinite. You can walk to "Piazza Vigliena" also named "The Sun Theatre", reaching in a short time to "Cassaro", as the Arabs called the most ancient fortification of the city. Few further steps and you can find the Norman Palace and the Cathedral, real architectural jewels. The Youth Hostel is situated in the splendid gulf of Sferracavallo where it directly faces the sea. The hostel is connected by public bus with the center of Palermo. Palermo's Youth Hostel offers the opportunity to experience sea and nature as well as history, culture and art of one of the most ancient cities of the Mediterreanean. It is also an excellent base for visiting Erice, Segesta, Cefalù , Agrigento and many more other places in Siciliy.

Reception is opened from 7.30 to 10 a.m and from 15.30 to 23.30 p.m. If you think to arrive later please call before. It's important for the check-in but when you'll stay here you can have the key of the gate so the hostel always is opened.
