The hostel was good, but in the hostel at the airport, we had a room with shower and toilet for less money. The hostel is far from the center, so if you are by foot it is uncomfortable, because you have to climb.

Quiet place to rest with wonderful surroundings away from city centre and yet the city is reachable in about 20 minutes by bus and tram or subway.

Ugly, dirty kitchens without any towels or aother cleaning materials, broken or not enough equipement disgusting smell in toiletts for females poor breakfast rooms were ok in the house we slept, can not rate the other buildings

breakfast vas not ok. It seems like the buffet vas leftovers from the day before, not freash at all.

The only challenge staying here was location. We ended up taking a cab there the first night because it was too late for public transit. After that the walk up the hill from the tram stop was not bad. A little off the beaten path if your interests were in the center of Oslo. Staff was great. Enjoyed talking with them.

The hostal is located outside Oslo, but as it is a green area close to a beautiful lake, it is well worth it to escape from the city for a few days and stay in more natural surroundings. The rooms are fine and the bedlinen is excellent!

Hostel Overview
Oslo Vandrerhjem Rønningen YMCA is located in the rural North of Oslo, but still close to the center. Close to "Oslo- Marka" with excellent hiking trails. The hostel offers different room types as for example singel rooms and 4- bedded rooms. A tasteful breakfast is served in the breakfast room. Attractions: The Holmenkollen skijump, the ski museum, Norsk Folkemuseum (Norwegian Museum of Cultural History), old vikingships, the Kon-Tiki museum, and the Munch museum, among others.
