It's not a hostel - it's just a crappy motel. The room was alright for the price, but it cost us about $50 to get to and from there on the shuttle bus - 70 Krone (about $12) per person, one way. For that price, you may as well just spend a little extra and get a room at the hotel Radisson, and not have to deal with the inconvenience of waiting for a bus in the cold. It was the most expensive "hostel" we stayed at during our trip, and definitely the worst value for the money. Not recommended.
We had a private room for two people with a ensuite bathroom. This room was good with comfy beds and was very clean, but the kitchen was awful. Very dirty with no utensils at all! Not great for a self catering hostel!
Very convenient for an early morning flight from the airport
I was not dissapointed of my stay in the hostel...I would have wish they serve low-price dinner meal as well. And the heater of the room didnt seem to be warm enough.
Great hostel, more like a hotel. Very clean, with a good breakfast supplied. The only downside is having to pay 140 NOK (there and back) for the 10 minute bus ride between the hostel and the airport.
Great for airport. Staff very helpful. The small self-catering kitchen has huge ventilation pipes and pumps running in it - the noise is ridiculous and makes it almost unuseable.
There is no HI signage outside, so even transfer bus driver not that sure of location - it is also known as Motel or apartments.
the price of the busride it 70 NOK, which is ridiculous.
We could have taken a train into the city and that would have not been much more expensive.
The location was easily accessible to public (bus) transportation to Gardermoen Airport and the NSB regional train system. A weekly NSB pass is a good value, and allows the holder unlimited use of the regional train (e.g., to Oslo), bus, tram and subway. Even though the Gardermoen Hostel is not very close to Oslo, the train system makes it only about 30 minutes away. A good place to stay.
To expensive for what is offered in other european countries and the bus to Oslo via Airport was very expensive
