Hostel Overview

The Obertraun Jutel is located at the foot of the Dachstein mountain right in the centre of the world heritage region of Hallstatt, an area of extremes. The hostel is an ideal base for a great skiing holiday (the longest ski run in Upper Austria); the Krippenstein is only 7 miles away and in summer the Dachstein and Mammut ice caves are worth a visit. Among the main attractions of Obertraun are kayaking and canoeing for pros and classes for beginners. We have a new “Fun Court” with music, floodlight and a campfire area. If you feel adventurous you might want to follow the “Solewanderweg” footpath through the Salzkammergut. More than just ski and water sports - experience the forces of nature in this incredible region!
