This is a nice, safe and very clean hostel. You won´t need shoes or flip flops to get back to your room from the shower, they keep it all clean. For $44 I got a quiet night at a 12 bed dorm. The hostel seems to be popular with young groups (with their teachers) and early 20´s. The staff at the check in are great and helpful about the hostel and the city. However the girls at the café have no intention of being your friend and focus on gossiping with each other during serving you, as most of the unsocial people at serving jobs do in NYC. The breakfast bagel with cheese and ham was good and cheaper than elsewhere I have spotted.

Although it's huge, I found the hostel to be very hospitable. There is plenty of space in the 6 bed dorm. The bunk beds are solid and not flimsy, squeaky like so many other hostels. Located in a classic, brick and mortar building. Very classy.
