No mirror in bedroom and only one mirror in communal bathroom.

I was here when the weather was really poor and the hostel lacked a comfy room to sit in and read a book. But for access to Alpine crossing and outdoor activities it cannot be beaten.

A decent hostel although the rooms were very small from what i remember, but a nice kitchen and a great place to explore the park and to walk the Tongariro Crossing...

Had a great 4 days, staff were friendly and helpfull also knowledgeable about area.Met loads of nice people.Highly recomended.
Hostel Overview
The hostel is located on the fringes of New Zealand’s oldest National Park and dual World Heritage area and is the closest hostel to the famous Tongariro Crossing. With magnificent views of the volcanoes right from the doorstep, the accommodation ranges from budget backpacker beds to private ensuite rooms. Other facilities include BBQ, spa pool and Internet. The hostel has been built around a challenging indoor climbing hall: 8m high, 55 different climbs, gear hire, free instruction, open daily. There is also a bar/restaurant next door.Own bus to Tongariro Alpine Crossing, departs daily (weather permitting) 7.15 am and returns at ~ 4 pm. Our indoor climbing hall is open daily, 35 top ropes, 55 different climbs.

| Airport: | We are located in National Park Village, Central North Island. Auckland airport is 4 hours drive. Also bus and train connection in the morning. |
