Hostel Overview
This quirky beachfront hostel overlooking the Pacific Ocean is an old hotel built in 1921. We have a homely lounge, well equipped kitchen and a garden courtyard; add cheerful staff with a dedication to cleanliness and you have a hostel with character, atmosphere and it is not full of seasonal workers like many Hawke Bay backpackers.
Sparkling sunny Napier is a stylish city surrounded by fine vineyards and looking out to Cape Kidnappers, home of the beautiful dynamic gannet seabird.
Destroyed by earthquake and fire in 1931 Napier was quickly rebuilt and is now a world recognised Art Deco architectural gem.
• We can help you plan local tours of the Art Deco area, wineries and gannet colonies. • We are less than 10 minutes walk from all the following amenities and attractions

• 180 kms of bicycle trail follows the coast, rivers, estuaries and wetlands of Hawkes Bay then meander through the vineyards and orchards of the Herataunga plains. Pan Pac Eskdale Mountain Bike Park is rated number 2 in NZ. Bike hire is easy to arrange.
• If you want something a little more adventurous there is para-sailing, ballooning, windsurfing, kayaking or rafting in the locality and in nearby Hastings there is Splash Planet water theme park.
