    For the price, wifi should be included. I don't think it's fair to lock people out either. If the rooms need to be empty for the cleaners, at least you could let people in the communal areas. A kitchen facility would be better than the awful breakfast that's included...at least a kettle and a microwave if nothing else.

    A true young hostel in the mid-town of Nantes. Don't expect anything else than a young hostel should bring you: a bed in a clean room, free sheets, clean toilets and bathrooms, minimalist continental breakfast, 24/24 access and a recreation room.

    Simple, and you get what you pay for. Great for those on a budget who need a place to sleep, a shower, and breakfast in the morning.

    Our stay was reasonably good except for: 1.The booking deposit was not deducted from the payment we made when we arrived. 2. A new guest installed himself in the room at 2am which was inconvenient for us - we had to move our things and the light was put on - was there no other room for this guest to go to?

    We had a great time, the reception was incredibly friendly and we felt right at home. Perfect for a weekend trip, easy to find, close to the city center, and overall quite pleasant.

    More Rulez in this Hostel then relaxing moments,never feel so bad. It starts in the morning, leave room at 10a.m!every morning! you can not take a shower and you have to stay downstairs at the reception on a sofa.At 12a.m. every body has to leave the whole hostel(even if it is raining or not)Today i stayed on the sofa and I wanted to take my jacket upstairs at 11:55 and it was not allowed. From 12 to 15:30 p.m. the hotel is completely empty! If the hostel answer is now that the cleaning time is taken for this, then I just can say this is not true, it is just that the hostel has not enough people to manage to stay open the whole day.

    The Receptionist was just a bit too friendly causing a queue of tired arrivals to wait rather longer than necessary to book in. Value for money: very little better than some B+Bs with more personal service.

Hostel Overview

Set in the heart of Nantes, Hostel La Manu is housed in an old converted factory just a 15 minute walk from the city centre and 500m from the train station. The hostel is in a quiet area and provides a convenient gateway to the Loire Valley.

Our accommodation includes rooms of 4 to 6 beds, and we offer a range of facilities including kitchen, bar, TV room, games room (with snooker table, table tennis and table football) and there is a laundry nearby. Breakfast is also included in the price so you can get a good start to your day.

Hostel La Manu is a 10 minute walk from the beautiful botanical gardens of the Jardin des plantes de Nantes, and being so close to the city centre you can visit popular attractions including the Natural History Museum of Nantes and the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul.

Also make sure you visit the amazing ‘Machines of the Isle’, an art project where you will find bizarre, gigantic mechanical animals including a 12-metre-high elephant!

Opening times (daily/weekly):
Reception is opened from 8:00am to 12:00 & from 3.30pm to 10.30pm. Late arrival (after 10.30pm) is possible as there is a night guard. No access to the hostel everyday from 5.30pm to 8:00pm and from 12:pm to 3.30pm. Rooms are closed for cleaning purposes from 10:00am to 3.30pm.
Opening times (over the year):
Annual closure from friday 14/12/12 at 12:00 to monday 07/01/13 at 15:30.
