i think this is one of the best hostels in the world. The place is clean, organised and friendly. The bathrooms and toilets are immaculate! Lovely showers. Plenty of warm blankets.
Hostel Overview
Victorian Tourism Award ‘Hall of Fame’ for Best Backpacker Accommodation, Melbourne Metro YHA offers premium facilities including a café, travel desk, 24-hour internet lounge, fully equipped guest self-catering kitchen, laudry, bicycles for hire, showers and baths in shared bathrooms. Use of rooftop barbecue area with 360 degree city views, secure car parking (subject to availability - $5 per day) a library of videos, TV, and in-house entertainment. Situated just 10 minutes walk from the city centre and close to major Melbourne attractions such as Queen Victoria Market, this 348-bed hostel offers 4, 6 and 8-bed multishare rooms. There are also eight private rooms with private bathrooms and 18 private rooms with shared bathrooms.There are lots of great hostel activities to get involved in at Melbourne Metro YHA! Join in with wine and cheese nights, movie nights, hostel BBQ's on the rooftop, local barefoot bowls, and take the free shuttle service to St Kilda on Fridays! Melbourne is the events and sporting capital of Australia so make sure you check out what’s going on. There’s the Spring Racing Carnival in November, Summer Music Festivals, Australian Open Tennis in January, Grand Prix in March, plus many other film, arts and fashion events all year round.
Present your taxi receipt from Spencer St or Franklin St Bus terminals to the hostel and receive $3 off your first nights stay. Total fare should be approx $8-10.
