We were here during the wet season and had the place all to ourselves. It was still a very enjoyable experience: the food was great, the beds are very comfortable, they provided B&B for my driver and the staff was helpful. Only complaint is the showers were not that warm - but what do you expect from camping? Thanks for the good stay, kwaheri!
Hostel Overview
Enchoro Wildlife Camp Masai Mara is a perfect camp with a modern touch designed to match with the surrounding environment. Accommodation is offered in semi luxurious large spacious tents with a spacious changing room and lockers for guests valuables. There are king size double beds, singles and triples, all with en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and showers, sinks mirror and sufficient lighting. We provide both hot and cold showers throughout the day. Water is harvested from our well source and pumped to our safe storage tanks. Generators are used for lighting and charging your cameras or cell phones for free. The camp is very popular with families as it has a safe and secure scenic environment for children to play.The wildlife camp caters for a maximum of 50 adult guests in three different styles of budget camping accommodation. Our activity desk can deal with any of your enquiries and questions and furnish you with all the up to date information on various Kenya adventure tours and activities in the Masai Mara.
Stay at Enchoro Wildlife Camp and be surrounded by a natural environment, waking up to bird twitter and sometimes roaring of lions. The camp is situated close to the entrance gate of Oloolaimutia in Masai Mara Game Reserve, located 270 km away from Nairobi in the South Rift. Location Information
The Masai Mara is the world's famous Game Reserve due to the annual wildebeest’s migration. Situated in the southwest of Kenya in the Rift Valley bordering with Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, Masai Mara National Reserve consist of 1,510 sq.km (589 sq. miles) made up of three group ranches I.E. the Mara Triangle, Musiara and Sekenani, all under the control of the local country councils. Often described as the greatest of nature’s stages, the Masai Mara, with its huge dramatic skies, is the most popular of all Kenya's game parks. The landscape which is mostly Savanna, hosts approximately 22 families of lions and 3000 elephants. This park is famous for herds of elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest and zebras that roam its plains. The Mara River is one of the best places to observe hippos and crocodiles.

Enchoro Safari Tented Camp boasts numerous well maintained grass areas and an abundance of different varieties of trees making the surroundings in the Safari camp very enjoyable, this makes the tented camp very popular for groups, families and children as it have a safe and secure scenic environment for children to play. Enchoro Wildlife Camp is able to cater for a maximum of 50 adult guests in three different styles of safari camps accommodation however for special events more guests can be accommodated with prior arrangement. All rooms in our tented camps have scenic views over the Mara with a sit for hour’s veranda with outside chairs. Each of these accommodation options are designed to suite different traveller’s needs but high standard of service is maintained thought the camp no matter what option you choose. Dining Facilities. Enchoro Wildlife Camp has an open air dining room overlooking the Masai Mara National Game Reserve, which we use for Dinner, breakfast and lunch. Tables are arranged for individual groups or couples as they wish. The informal dining room and sitting rooms are comfortable, open and airy. They enjoy uninterrupted views of Masai Mara Enchoro Safari Camp whose ever-changing natural setting attract birds and other wildlife. All meals are relaxed and casual, served in the dining room or in the bush, or even on Utumaduni our traditional Gazebo. The availability of wonderful, fresh vegetables and tropical fruit dictates most menus but Enchoro Wildlife Camp offers wholesome, nutritious home-cooked menus from all over the world to suit any palate. Our chefs can easily cater to the demands of children and those on special diets. There is a separate sitting room (Gazebo) our fire place and bar area on the side of the dinning which we use mainly during the day and pre-dinner drinks in the evenings as you enjoy the evening campfire with some traditional Masai Dances or at sun downer by the time the sun begins to set and the night creatures, insects and wildlife start to tune up for the evening symphony. This is ideal for children and well enough away so not to disturb the other guests. We do pick up service if you travel from overseas to Kenya through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. All you need to do to confirm your airport pick up is to provide flight details to facilitate the service which costs only ksh 1500 to any point in Nairobi City Centre. To Get to Enchoro Wildlife Camp in Masai Mara from Nairobi there are daily shuttles which depart every hour to Narok town from Nyamakima Bus stop on river road Nairobi. Connect in Narok town with another Shuttle bus or Matatus to Masai Mara Oloolaimutia town both matatu and Shuttle drop or pick you up from the Enchoro Wildlife Camp if you request the driver to do so. (Please enquire about private transfer) Alternatively, Enchoro Wildlife Camp Masai Mara operates its own tours to Masai Mara National Reserve. A 3 Days 2 Nights Safari depart daily at 8.00 am from the Nairobi International Youth Hostel, Upper Hill on Ralph Bunche Road-Next to Nairobi Hospital Our reception area is open and has an activity desk that can deal with any enquiries about local activities like visits to local masai villages, game drives, nature walks among other information on various touristic activities in Masai Mara not forgetting being entertained by the Masai Moran’s (young men) and Women on Masai traditional dances. Safe keeping facility is available free of charge at the Camp warden’s office to lock up your valuables, ensuring a peace of mind on your trip. There are daily laundry services to ease your worry of having to try and do laundry when on holiday, we can always help you connect a lift from the group going to Masai Mara.
