friendly good hostel, but more for groups and couples with children than for single travellers

I really wish this hostel had a guest kitchen and a T.V. room away from the reception area.

Very friendly service. Free breakfast buffet. Storage lockers, toilets and showers in room. Sometimes wifi can be a little unreliable. I would definitely stay there again.

I used the youth hostel in Germany during four days. The staff had you correspond kindly. Although the German could speak only about a few, it corresponded in English, was obtained and was saved. I would like to use, when going to Germany.

Overall, the hostel is awesome. Friendly staffs and great facilities. My only complain is that it is located a bit far from the downtown area. Takes around 15 to 20 minutes of U-Bahn to get to the Town Square or the Central Station, which isn't too bad, but take some time every morning to get out and do tours.

On the morning of Sunday, December 30, at the front desk for check-out, there was a young woman who was very rude to us. She accused us of being left even "with 5 minutes late." She repeated this three times in a loud voice, and with a very aggressive mode. For the rest, the hostel is one of the most beautiful and comfortable ever!

Hostel Overview
HI Munich-Park, the recently renovated hostel in München. Situated in the south of Munich, in green surroundings close to the Isar river and Hellabrunn Zoo, this hostel is one of the HI network of hostel in Germany and one of two HI hostels in München.The youth hostel offers all accommodation including breakfast and bedsheets in 62 double rooms, 53 4-bedded rooms as well as five rooms with 6 beds each, all with en suite shower/WC and bunk beds. 4 rooms are adapted for people with disabilities. FREE wifi in the lobby.
On the day of arrival rooms are available from 14.30 hrs.
From Hauptbahnhof (central station) take underground #1 or 2 to “Sendlinger Tor“ (one stop), change to U3 (direction “Fuerstenried West”) and get off at “Thalkirchen/Zoo”. From the airport take S8 to Marienplatz change to U3 (direction “Fuerstenried West”) and get off at “Thalkirchen/Zoo”. From there follow the signs displaying the DJH symbol (Jugendherberge) towards "Thalkirchner Platz". Pass the church and stay on Fraunbergstrtrasse, just before the hill, turn left into Münchner Straße and Miesingstrasse(4 min walk).
By car: follow signs to “Zoo” or “Campingplatz Thalkirchen”. At Thalkirchner Platz take Maria-Einsiedel-Str. and after 50m turn right into Fraunbergstrasse, after 300m turn left and directly right again on to our parking. Please don’t stop in front of the building.
