Bed was crawling with bugs. Checked out after first night. As kept getting bitten. Disgusting

I would not advise anyone to stay in this hostel unless absolutely desperate. The room, which I shared with 8 women, was dirty, smelly, and dank with little light. The light provided for the bunks did not work, the shower backed up and 8 unrelated women were supposed to share one room key! The marginal kitchen had no apparent serving utensils and seemed more designed for the selling of snacks by staff than actual use by guests. At breakfast we were offered hot drinks in thin plastic disposable cups, which exuded toxic plastic fumes. The common room, which had the only decent Internet connection, was dominated by a staff member selling drinks with loud music. They suggesed we go to the second floor common room, which was uncomfortable and had very marginal Internet. All in all, this hostel ranks 1 on a scale of 10. Do not stay here!

ONLY STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE NO FINANCIAL CHOICE. I woke up my first morning with my bed been crawling with ants. Apparently, it "can't be helped because that room is next to the garden." There is really nothing in the world like waking up on the top bunk to find that there are half a dozen ants crawling all over you, biting where they can. I complained about it and I switched to another bed in the same room, but I made a point of examining my old bed after the switch, and I noticed several ant corpses remained. I don't think they even bothered to change the fitted sheet, just to put a new folded blanket on the bed. Come on, at least change the sheets after an ant infestation, are you kidding me? By the way, they say that they have free wi-fi but it was terrible. Almost no one in the lounge could get on. It was super cheap, I will give you that, and quiet with only 4 max in my room, but those ants were a real killer.

Everything was top, but I have to say that the showers with non regulating temperature isn`t the best solution and also it`s a pipe sticking out of the wall. But all in al I will definitively come back!

This hostel was very well organized and clean. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Rooms were spacious and private.
Hostel Overview
Hostel Lyon is located in the heart of the city known as the gastronomic capital of France and is close to Lyon’s Renaissance district, between the St Jean Cathedral and the Gallo Roman Museum. Inaugurated in the summer 98, in a renovated building, the hostel overlooks the city and offers a splendid view of Lyon.With a capacity of 180 beds, youth hostel Lyon offers all modern comforts for you to relax and enjoy quality time with fellow travellers. The breakfast is included in the price, and you will also have access to a kitchen, laundry, TV and free Wi-Fi.
Located in the district of Vieux Lyon, the hostel is close to some important historical sites such as the abbey of St Martin d’Ainay, the Saint Jean-Baptiste Cathedral and the St-Nizier Church. Museums on the history of the city, the Gallo-Roman civilization, as well as puppets of the world are just within minutes from the hostel. In winter, the Alps ski resorts are about an hour and a half by car from Lyon, which will delight the sport fans. There are also six natural parks all around the city, so you can plan great outdoor activities.
