Everything is good except (1) lots of dead flies in kitchen in morning; (2) no range hood in kitchen.

YHA Lake Tekapo was our first of many YHA hostels that we stayed. The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and most importantly, it has the best view of Lake Tekapo! Highly recommended!

Bathroom cleanliness can be improved...especially the drainage in shower room...too much water lead to flooding at night in the toilet and still the same in the next morning
Hostel Overview
The million-dollar view from this Hostel will add a whole new meaning to your trip. Located right on the lakefront, with unobstructed views to the mountains beyond. A large cosy lounge with a log fire in winter overlooks the lake and is the ultimate place for watching the incredible shades of blue of this glacier fed lake. There is no bank or ATM (cash point) in Tekapo.For your enjoyment our Hostel has a piano, a guitar, a DVD player and free DVD's, games and puzzles galore.
