Hostel Overview
Lübeck (population 200,000) with its seven towers and the famous landmark Holsten Gate is proud of its Hanseatic tradition. The town has about 1000 listed buildings, more than any other place in Germany, and has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.Altstadt Youth Hostel is located in the centre of Lübeck with many attractions in walking distance. There are no leisure facilities in the hostel itself but there are many museums, art galleries, cinemas and theatres close-by and at the river Wakenitz you can rent pedalos, rowing boats and canoes.

| Parking: | No parking in Mengstraße but there are parking lots across the river Trave. |
| Location: | The Lübeck-Altstadt youth hostel is located at the heart of Lübeck’s Old Town, in the same street as the “Buddenbrookhaus”, home of the Thomas Mann Foundation. |
| Rail: | 10 min walk from Lübeck train station to the youth hostel. |
