Good location, just about 15 minutes walk to city center. Easy to park, just in front of the entrance. Breakfest was fresh and very good. Fresh and tidy room. Not so good place for your clothings if you are more than 2 persons in the room.

A beautifully maintained hostel which is only let down by its complete lack of tourist information as it is clearly geared towards business people and functions. However, although the first, young male receptionist had to be persuaded to find out info for me the other 2 females I later dealt with were very helpful in looking up info on the internet, as the Tourist Information was closed for the weekend.

Hostel Overview
Kongsberg Youth Hostel: A high class hostel in the town centre, yet in quiet surroundings. All rooms are en suite, with TV and wireless connection. Facilities for meetings and celebrations. Large, free parkingKongsberg is the Silver and Skiing Town! It was built on silver mining from 1624, and is surrounded by hills and mountains. Many cultural monuments originating from its wealthy silver mining period. The Numedalslågen River, with its impressive waterfalls, flows through the town centre, and the surrounding countryside is a joy to explore - summer as winter. The town’s character reflects its mining culture and skiing history, which can also be experienced in the Silver Mines, the museums and the magnificent baroque church towering near the youth hostel. 18-holes golf facilities just outside town. The hostel has a large, free parking area.
