Hostel Overview

Welcome to Amagi Onsen Zen-no-yu YH!

In April, 2007, enlarged and remodeled Amagi Harris Court YH reopened as Amagi Onsen Zen-no-yu YH.

Amagi Hot Spring appeared in the ground of historic and old Jigenin Temple, which was established in the Kamakura period, in the year that fell on exactly 1,200th year since the year 807, when Kobo Daishi hit “Tokko hot spring”.

Rich in calcium, sodium, and sulfate, the pH 9.0 alkali hot spring have outstanding effect to make the skin beautiful. Because no heat or water is added to the running spring water, and it does not circulate, the gift from the earth that only hot spring offer permeates the core of your body.

The modern-looking white building is a facility offered by a temple. The inside is unified by the spirit of Zen with clean, bright space and few ornaments. Open, clean feeling is in the air with a dry garden in the center with a motif of “purified heart”, the Japanese poem composed by Zen priest Dogen.

Zen, one of the denominations of Buddhism, is to meditate in order to eliminate hesitation or delusion and awaken to the truth. Do you wanna try?
