Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and clean. It took me a while to work out how to use the bed lamps but that I am probably an idiot ;-).

This hostel has a great location and the staff is excellent. More than once they advised my family and I how to save money on transportation tickets, best use our time, etc. The hostel is spotless and the staff is outstanding! I will return, best compliment I can give it.

Hostel Overview
The youth hostel is in a quiet location close to a park in the Rhine meadows of Riehl. The path along the river bank is ideal for cycling and rollerblading. The direct underground to the city centre only takes 9 minutes.Famous attractions: Cologne Cathedral, museums and art galleries (Roman-Germanic Museum, Museum Ludwig, Chocolate Museum, Sport & Olympia Museum etc.), Cologne Opera House, Philharmonic, Schauspielhaus (municipal theatre), Zoo (with Flora Botanic Garden & Aquarium), Mediapark with TV studios, Rheinauenpark, Deutz trade fair grounds, "Köln-Arena" concert hall, boat tours from Cologne city centre, football “Bundesliga” in Cologne and Leverkusen. Cologne-Riehl youth hostel has a "Service Point" organizing complete leisure activity programmes for schools, groups, families and individuals. You can either pick from our extensive choice and create your own individual programme or choose one of our packages for schools, groups and families.

| Sea port: | Piers are located towards the city centre (about 1km - 4km). |
| Location: | The youth hostel is located in the Riehl district, 100m behind the AXA building on the Rhine. The zoo is close-by. |
| Rail: | Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), 3 km - 9 min by underground. |
| Airport: | From Airport Cologne-Bonn there is a train to Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) every 15 min. From there take underground U18 (direction "Zoo/Flora") to "Boltensternstraße" stop. |
