Stayed in a room, but had many mosquitoes and was bitten several times. Other people were in same room and got bitten a lot also, they made smart decision and changed rooms however. Would be a good idea to do something about the room and the mosquitoes. Not sure if other rooms still had same issue though.
Hostel response:
Hello Yem, how are you?
I am really sorry to hear that you had a problem only now. If you had said something to us or asked we are here to help you all. You stayed with us for 4 days and not once you complained to us. There are insecticides sprays here at the reception available to all the guests: Body and room spray! Also we installed in some place automatic repelent sprays to solve the problem. Now it’s much better.
Because of our garden, and also because now is Summer time here in Brazil, there are some mosquitoes around, not only here at the Hostel. Hope next time you feel more comfortable to ask at the reception!
Only problem: our reading lights had no light bulbs!
Hostel response:
Hi Igor, how are you?
Unfortunately we were making a maintenance in our lamps for new ones at the time you were here. So some beds already had the new ones and others did not, but we had some lamps at the reception. But now there are new and environmentally friendly bulbs at all the beds! Next time you are here you will be able to read at night !
Far from Metro station, mountain high and down.
Hostel response:
Hi László, how are you?
We are at 6 blocks from the Vila Madalena Subway, 10-15 minutes walking (here in Sao Paulo this is pretty close) and besides that Vila Madalena is one of the securest neighborhood in town and very pleasant to walk around to enjoy the sightseeing
And yes, there is ONE little hill on the way to the subway (On Girassol Street, Take first right at Purpurina Street, go straight and there is the small hill, then take left at Jericó Street and go straight till Rodésia Street and then take right and go straight ahead to the subway). São Paulo and most of all Vila Madalena are not known but its plains surfaces.
I really appreciated my stay at this place. Everybody in the staff is very nice, pleasant and available (don't know if it's the correct word in english for "disponible/accessible"). Deborah really knows how to guest people !
Very good hostel!! It is the second time I stay there, and I wouldnt have any problem about going back in the future.
I really enjoyed my stay. I would defintely stay here again.
I really appreciated the non-smoking rule at the hostel. However, I was sorry to have to breath the smoke from the lady working there - she is the housekeeper.
Hostel response:
Hello Bryan, I´m really sorry about that, she smokes a lot, but always at the places that are allowed and never at the place with the guests, kitchen or some room. Thanks for your comment, we´re going to change this situation.
