Excellent hostel - easily one of the best stays of my trip. I wish I had booked more than one night. Such a beautiful location, the hostel is like a lake-side cabin, really cosy. Small kitchen but not many people cooking. Wireless in common areas only. Not close to any shops so come prepared. Only bad feedback was the bus/ferry timetable for Saturdays is wrong. Bus driver confirmed that both the hostel AND the ferry website is wrong, quite frustrating.

Bonito lugar....con unas vistas excelentes inclusive desde los baños...buen desayuno...es la mejor ubicación si se desea visitar la montaña...Nice place with excellent views .... even from the bathrooms ... good breakfast ... the best location if you wish to visit the mountain ...

Nice cabin-style set up. Kitchen is very overcrowded as it has to be used by the entire hostel. Can't beat the location, and view from your window.

We know that Norway is expensive but charging you NOK 1.125 for 3 main courses and 2 desserts is a rip off! No wines included!
Hostel Overview
This hostel is a seasonal hostel, which means it is not open all year and has seasonal opening times. Please keep this is mind when checking availability. The hostel is located in picturesque surroundings in Ryfylke (altitude 250 m). This is a good starting point for walks to the famous Pulpit Rock (2 hours one way). The hostel offers excellent opportunities for walking and fishing. Preikestolhytta is a mountain hostel and from time to time the cellphone- and Internet connection may be down.
