Nice hostel, great place to hangout and meet travelers, close to the beach, food in the hostel is good value. Will be back again!

Whilst some staff were very friendly, others were quite disgusting to deal with. Shouting insults at guests and one another all day is rather off putting - even when you are not the target of such insults. Cleanliness was poor, although breakfast was reasonable. Very much a single minded hostel, it is dedicated to those who come to surf, and as such were not willing or able to provide information on anything else.

Pros: Fairly easy public transportation: arrived by train in Bayonne, then took the bus right outside the station to a stop just down the street from the hostel (about 30 minutes total). The beach is a 10 minute walk through a mellow residential area, and it's beautiful! Camping is an option at this hostel, which is cool. Strong and hot showers, clean rooms, plenty of common space, and free WiFi / computer use (ask for code at the desk). Stoked on the surf vibe, variety of people staying there, and the excellent staff (so friendly and helpful). Cons: Kitchen is not accessible for cooking during the summer, and you have to be out of the rooms from 11:00-14:00 every day while they clean (didn't encounter this at any other hostels).

I think there should be more available information for local services in the area, such as Bus timetables, taxi numbers and maps. I feel the staff could be more helpful. The facilities are basic. I found the information on the website to be misleading as there is no use of kitchen facilities available in the summer. Most hostels ive stayed in have kitchen facilities to help keep the costs down for travellers.

Great food! Only negative is that I booked to be in an all female dorm and they are in fact mixed dorms but no worries if it doesnt bother you!

Awesome place! Nobody on reception between 12-6pm which is a pain if you arrive at 1pm so your stuck with your bags all day untill you check in. Otherwise no negatives.

Good, easy-going atmosphere. Only thing that really let the place down was the toilets. For such a large number of people who must stay at the hostel over the summer, surely it's worth while in investing in more permanent facilities. Despite this, the location of the hostel, the staff and the night-time entertainment make up for any shortcomings.
Hostel Overview
Anglet Youth Hostel is a major stop for backpackers and surfers on a journey to the Basque Coast. If you enjoy living with your feet in the sand and 5 minutes from Anglet's mythical waves and beaches, you can enjoy shared accommodation (7 bedded room) for a cheap price, breakfast included.Anglet Youth Hostel is a cool destination, close to Biarritz center, a place with good vibes, respect and friendliness, perfect for meeting young people from around the world. After surfing have a drink and a bite at the hostel's Scottish Pub. Surf and bike cheap rental. If you're coming by train or by car, be green, bring your bike! Facilities include bike, surf board, and wetsuit rental, Internet access, laundry, and a members' kitchen available from September 15th to June 15th (cafeteria from June 15th to September 15th). Meals for groups all year on a half-board or full-board basis. For more safety, lockers are available (locks for sale at the reception) for valuables.
This Youth Hostel has been recommended by the Guide du Routard, Let's go, Lonely Planet, Geoguide, and Trip Advisor. We welcome only members aged 18 and older. This hostel is not appropriate for families from 15 June to 15 September.
