This is a place for school children to go on "sleep-over excursions". From Luxembourg city you have to go by train and then bus, and the latest bus in the evening is 19.30. There is no supermarket around the hostel. There is one nice pizza resaurant, but it is closed at Tuesdays. As we didn`t know this and had planned to eat there, we almost ended up having no food for a whole evening. We asked staff for four slices of bread, but the guy we spoke to said that this was not possible. After a lot of arguing and back and forwards, we got some bread from him, and also he made us a dish of some left overs. All in all this was a bad experience, very poor service, understanding and friendliness in this unpleasant situation.

Hostel Overview
The youth hostel is right next to the castle and is able to welcome around 91 people. The hostel has as well part of the castle which offers availabilities of 60 beds for groups outside the school holidays. In 1975, the castle became the home of the ecological youth centre which offers, in close co-operation with the youth hostel, ecological courses for groups and school parties. Sanitary facilities are on the ground floor, additional toilets are on each floor. The youth hostel offers a tinkering room as well as three common rooms, which may be used as classrooms. HIFI & Video equipment can be put at the guests' disposal if required. Our team will do its best to satisfy the guests and offers full board (breakfast, packed lunch and dinner). Luxembourgish specialities and vegetarian meals are available on request. The Marienthal Centre with its adventure park, is close to the youth hostel, and offers the possibility for activities like mountain bike, climbing and mountaineering to youth- and school groups.
