The bunkbeds downstairs are very close to the ceiling and I was assigned one. I am 6ft1...
needs FUN. otherwise a great location
It did take a short while to get used to the dungeon.
Lovely little gem nestled in a lovely neighborhood with plenty to do. Only served bagels during the time I was there, but that truly is the only complaint. Would stay here again and again. Truly friendly and helpful staff.
Great stay- the second night, my dorm hosted a very loud snorer, and I was unable to sleep very well. But, I suppose there's nothing to be done about this- it happens.
Otherwise, a fine hostel. Thanks!
Great hostel, all staff I dealt with were very friendly & helpful. Free bagels everyday which helps the budget. Very Earth friendly, with recycling & water conservation (which I like)Close to two grocery stores, & lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes on Hawthorne Street.
Only drawback is the location, have to catch the bus into downtown Portland or pretty much anywhere else you want to explore, unless you don't mind walking 30 blocks, then over the bridge.
I loved the convenience of shops and restaurants close to Hostel. Everyone was friendly and laid back
This hostel wasn't too bad. Staff was very friendly and the location was great. The hot water didn't work in the downstairs shower. Usually hi hostels have free breakfast so I was a little disappointed by the lack of that (and the charges for coffee/tea), but I would still recommend staying here.
The Portland Hostels are not handicapped friendly.
I truly enjoyed my stay at the Hawthorne hostel in Portland. The staff are really cool the accomidations were awesome and the entire hostel is eco-minded. Great place to stay.
