A nice stay in rustic environment . Lost my good San Francisco CSAA map and haven't got it back.
Great hostel will defintely go back again.
This is a bad location to have a daytime lockout period, since if it's pouring rain, it's dangerous to drive the six or so miles to the visitor center or Point Reyes Station on that hilly, curvy, often foggy road. Even if staffing levels require some lockout days, I think consideration should be given to allowing residents to stay in on bad-weather days.
Hostel response:
Hello Harriet,
I just wanted to let you know that of 4/2/12, the Point Reyes Hostel does not have day time lock-out any more for guests already checked in. We had to wait until the new fiscal year to started to implement this change that I budgeted for last year. I hope you can come stay with us again some time.
Best,
Hanna
This is a great little hostel, set in a superb location.
Loved everything about this hostel. The kitchen was wonderful. Everything is cataloged on the doors and cabinets so you can find tools fast & efficient.
Appreciate cleanliness, orderly instructions/signs, quiet, beautiful setting, and your efforts to incorporate and educate on composting, plastic bottles, and recycling.
Charges extra for everything. Located in complete mobile network shade and no WiFi network available .
Clean place in a nice location with many common areas. But one shower for a dorm of 8 isn't very much. But the worst is that they do not offer free WiFi... bit old-fashioned......
What a wonderful cosy hostel in the middle of the state park. Can highly recommend to stay there. Very helpful staff, very clean, cosy launch and comfy beds. TOP!
A spectacular location, spotless hostel and nice staff. The only complaint I have is nothing they can fix - the old floors really carried sound and someone was up walking around at 4am and it woke me up repeatedly (despite earplugs)
