Best hostel I've stayed in thus far!
VERY COMFORTABLE FOR DINING AND PEACE OF MIND. ENGAGIMG HELPFUL ALERT STAFF. OLDER SUBURBAN COMFORT IN THE HEART OF THE CITY!
The staff was mostly cold and distant, which was definitely a surprise: first time that ever happened to me in a hostel. Otherwise, great house, premises are clean and inviting.
Hostel response:
Hi Emilie, sorry to hear about your experience at this hostel, I'm not sure who you were interfacing with but I can promise you that isn't normal and won't happen again if you return.
Cheers, have a great day
Carlos
it's different than the other hostel. This one is very cozy, it's really like living in own home.
Hostel response:
Thanks! Hope to see you return soon.
At my arrival I had a staff member who was not unpolite, but also not very friendly. She could not give me any information about the city questions and was overwhelmed, when all lockers in my room were taken. A second man showed up and took care of the problem right away. And also the man with a spanish lastname was very friendly and helpful. Therefore I decided to clip very good, even though I wouldn't if the girl would have been the only one I had met.
Hostel response:
Cheers and thanks for the comment.
It was great. Absolutely no complaints.
Hostel response:
Thanks Francisco, we'll see you next time.
My reservation was made by Internet. When I arrived the computer at the hostel didn't show my registration. I brought a vehicle. I was fortunate that there was a parking space available for me. Please consider allowing a person bringing a vehicle to make reservations for the vehicle also or cancell the hostel stay. It looked to be very difficult to find parking in that area. I really liked the atmosphere of the hostel. It was an older building but it had friendly atmosphere. Overall it was a fun experience and I would recommend it to people who like a "touch of the old" in their travels.
Hostel response:
Thanks Peter. Parking M-F is limited to two spots in the back lot and are first come, first serve. On weekends starting on Friday afternoon we have ten spots our guests can use.
Hope to see you soon in Madison.
Ah yes, there is free parking about four blocks away from the hostel should there not be any spots in our lot.
Madison is a great little city with outdoor opportunities to bike, ski and jog. Plus, the hostel is located smack in the middle of a dynamic downtown area with the capitol complex and an excellent choice of restaurants and bars with good beer and great music. Wonderful kitchen facilities, too.
Hostel response:
Thanks Terri and have a great year!
Everything else was great, except the shower was always really dirty.
It's a cheap hostel, yet only deserves that much. There's no complimentary breakfast, and the bed and pillow are the most uncomfortable I've even used. OK for a low budget sleep over, not good if there's business in town.
Hostel response:
Thanks!
