Was verry excited to arrive in hawaii and was let down by the male staff member at the front counter as i arrived he was very unwelcoming and rude i thought he may just be having a bad day but no he was like that every time i tryed to talk to him...

This hostel is very good for want for town and activity.Location is so good,it is very near the Waikiki beach,and many shops , bars, and more.If you want silent and calmness ,honolulu youth hostel is recommended.

Amazing stay at this hostel ! It is so close to the beach and all the shopping, food land, abc stores, macy's. Definetly recommanded hostel.

The 6 bed dorm I stayed in offered very little for furniture, space and security. The location is what really makes staying at this hostel worth while. Overall pretty decent value.

You're right, for $25 in a place where the average hotel rate is $150, this is a great value. We've configured our dorms just for sleeping and our common area for hanging out. -

HI Waikiki is situated 1km from the city centre, the hostel is two blocks from Waikiki beach and is within easy reach of Ala Moana, Kailua and Hanauma Bay beaches. Island tours and nature walks can be arranged. There is capacity for 63 guests and facilities include internet access, TV, laundry, kitchen and free WIFI in common areas.Our clean and friendly hostel offers separate male and female dormitory style accommodation with en-suite bathrooms and showers. There are also a limited number of private studios available. We accommodate all kinds of short term-travellers; students, backpackers, airline employees, professionals coming for conferences - if you’re travelling short term in Hawaii, HI Waikiki is a great home-base for you!

Additional Information: We are for short term travellers only. Each guest must have an out of state ID (or from a different island) & an incoming & outgoing plane ticket showing recent arrival & departure within 3 weeks.
Private Room Rates for 2011 - $58 per night with membership $64 per night without membership. Private rooms can only be reserved by calling us.
Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization, promoting peace through hostelling since 1909. Non-members will be asked to pay a $3 non-membership fee per night upon check-in.
