This was our second time staying at the Alpine Centre, but the first in winter and we had just a great a time as our first visit! The staff are really friendly and helpful. The free bus service into town is perfect, particularly in the winter! The kitchen areas are well equipped and cleanand hot showers welcome when coming in from the outdoors!

Love this hostel! My room was great! People were nice. Some people dislike that it is further away from town, but it is only a short bus ride and walk and I liked that it was away from the centre and all the tourists

Hostel Overview
Set in a historic building, the HI-Banff Alpine Centre is rated in the top ten of the network of hostels worldwide! Activities range from skiing to whitewater rafting, hiking and mountain biking. There are 216 beds and facilities include two spacious kitchens, two fireplaces, internet access and a restaurant and pub.Sunshine Village ski hill is open until May 20, get your discounted lift tickets at check-in!
Summer is almost here! Stay and Raft, Ride, Paddle and See. Ask about our discounted rafting trips, bike rentals, canoe rentals and Gondola tickets at check-in!

Directions
| Bus: | 4kms from Greyhound bus station (Gopher St and Lynx St). Take Lynx St, left on Wolf St, left on Otter St, which becomes Tunnel Mountain Road, all the way up to the hostel. A taxi from the Greyhound bus station to the hostel is about $8 + tip. OR catch the Route 2 - Tunnel Mountain bus from Banff Avenue up to the hostel for $2.00 (get your bus pass at check-in). |
