It was a fantastic Estancia, very quiet and perfect for a rest. The Hostel was led by an extremely nice couple who cooked for us and took care of us very well. I would recommend it!!!

This is a fabulous place to stay. Monica and Miguel looked after us very well. We two Geriatric Backpackers had a great time, even riding bikes into Nueva Helvecia. We thoroughly recommend this hostel.

This is a very comfortable and relaxing guest house. The owners are very nice and helpful. Great food. Great for a getaway from the city and to explore the nearby farms.

Miguel and Bridget were wonderful. We stayed for one night, and it was one of the most memorable places we'd been on our trip. Welcomed by a nice meal, friendly couple and a beautiful sky of stars. (Not to mention the delicious wine) Perfecto! We rode bikes around the country side during the day and stopped by a local goat farm to taste the most wonderful cheese! It seems like a wonderful community of people. They are very informative and helpful, Miguel even taught us how to drink Mate the traditional way. I can't wait to go back, hoping to learn more about the culture.

Had a great experience. El Galope is a beautiful and quiet estancia where you can chill out. The owners are very passionate about the estancia and take good care of their guests.

Hostel Overview
The El Galope Farm Hostel - is a restful stopover in Colonia's countryside, 50 minutes away from Colonia city by bus on the way to Montevideo. Excellent frequency inexpensive and comfortable buses either from Colonia or Montevideo.FEEL AT HOME FAR AWAY FROM HOME. GET AWAY FROM IT ALL. LEAVE THE CITY AND COME TO THE GREEN FIELDS PEACE, RELAXATION, HORSES, BIKES, BOOKS, FONDUE, GOOD WINE, AND SAUNA.
Ecological sun water heaters fireplace and Good heating in rooms. No TV for your soul welfare.
Traveling is in our souls!
We know how important it is to have a rest in your trip.
We speak German, French, English and Spanish.
GUESTS MAY USE THE KITCHEN FACILITIES TO PREPARE MEALS ONLY FROM 12.00 to 17.00 hrs.
DRINKS SHOULD BE PURCHASED AT EL GALOPE. We have very good water from our own well for free.

| Bus: | FROM COLONIA If you take Buquebus or Colonia Express from Buenos Aires go to the Bus Terminal just outside Colonia's Port. Take Turil bus. Never take COT buses. It costs arround USD 4. Whichever bus you take (Buquebus, Colonia Express, COT or Turil) indicate you are getting of at Km 114,5 Ruta 1 (Entrance Balneario Santa Regina). It takes 50-minutes. When you have your ticket please call 00598 99105985 and let us know the time your bus leavs and we will pick you up to take you to El Galope free of charge. FROM MONTEVIDEO From Tres Cruces Bus terminal take TURIL bus to Km 114,5 Ruta 1 (Entrance Balneario Santa Regina)Never take COT buses When you have your ticket please call or send a sms to the 099105985 with the time you are leaving and we will pick you up at the bus Stop to take you to El Galope free of charge. |
