Cortona's youth hostel, housed in an ancient building that's one of the most splendid in this city of art, is the ideal place for those who enjoy history and the chance to relive the past. Everyone is familiar with the great artistic and cultural legacy of the Renaissance, and Cortona encapsulates this legacy: from its superb buildings and the numerous works of art, to the spectacular winding alleyways and the panoramic views from its hilltops. Cortona is a very good base for daytrips to nearby towns such as Pienza, Montepulciano and so many others that are all equally fascinating to art and nature lovers.
