The lady at the desk was very nice, informative and helfull. However, it is a little bit annoying that the hostel is closed most of the day and that there is no access to the rooms.

worth to stay! the price is cheap, the location is good, the room is peaceful and comfortable, the staff are very nice and helpful! but a little inconvenient thing is the hostel close between 10:00AM to 16:00PM, you can't go back during that time.

The staff is very friendly and very kind. Feel safe and comfortable. Even it's the shared room, there are lockers for us to keep stuffs.

The rooms were quite uncomfortable, 3 rooms with 12 beds each all together. To get to our room we had to pass through the other two. Also, you have to leave the hostel between 10 AM to 4 PM. If you don't leave you can't exit until 4PM! Wifi didn't work in the rooms, and in order to use the computer you have to pay - something I haven't ran in to yet while staying in HI hostels. Plus, you can't use a fridge, instead you receive ridiculous ice cubes..

Very efficiently run place, front end lady was amazing. We didn't realize there were no cooking facilities so she provided some ice packs for our food. The meal was fabulous for the price of €12. Only complaint would be the super high bunk and the hard mattress, but I was tired and slept like a log anyway.

I love this place, have been there several times! Marcella and her husbond are so nice and helpful and always positive. Me and my friends (elderly ladies) had dinner at the hostel and we all were very pleased for the food. I´ll return to Villa Olmo, I´m sure. Marja Antonsson from Sweden

Very friendly staff in beautiful location just behind a mansion on the lake. 10-15 minute walk from one train station, 20-30 minutes from the center of town/other station. Be aware that they are closed from 10 am until 4 pm, so plan to arrive early or late if you want to drop your bags. Recommended.

Hostel Overview
A lakeside vacation here is a wonderful experience that's hard to forget. There are also lots of other things to see: besides stunning Lake Como, which can be crossed to the other side by frequent erries, there is the beautiful art and the shopping in nearby towns - all easily reachable. Travel to a town where it's possible to buy silk at a discount, for instance. The list of activities here is so long that there's no chance of being bored in Como, the commercial crossroads between Europe and Italy. There's also a bit of folklore that takes place each June when the evocative Medieval Palio is held.From the 1st of May 2013 the Municipality of Como has etablished the tourist tax. The tax amount is 0,50€ per person per night and is applied to the overnight stay of no-residents in the Municipality of Como for a maximum of 4 consecutive nights (exemption for children under 14 years).From October 1st to 31 of March the tax is payable in a 50% reduction.
