Overall is good except its location but luckily, they offer shuttle car to drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. Staff is very kind and helpful. Dinner is very localized and good. Perhaps someone may not like it but they should try once at least.

I book a dormitory bed but it's just like a hotel double room! Meet with other group of nice guest which average age is around 57 :) Very safe and comfortable for a single visitor. A bit confused when took off the bus to station. Luckily that day I was helped so I went down at Alishan bus stop and take a bus from a hostel.

The view is amazing especially at sunset, but otherwise the location isn't very convenient if you don't have your own means of transportation. This will probably change once the train starts operating again. The staff was very friendly and helpful though, and arranged rides to and from the forest recreation area. The food at the centre was good and the room was very clean. All in all, I had a great stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at Alishan YAC International Youth Hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is extremely delicious, and the room is really cosy. I enjoyed my stay there. Thank you so much!:)

Since the small forest train was temporary not in operation, you have to take the public bus, align at the bus stop and walk approx. 3km to the hostel. A slow walk to the hostel is good especially after a 2-hr trip from Chiayi bus station to Alishan Youth Hostel. Alternatively, you may wants to make arrange with the Youth Hostel for pick-up. They even send me to the Alishan Recreation Park in the morning and pick me up again at 4pm. Dinner was at NT200 person and you need to inform them by 4pm. It was good but I consider it expensive for 1 person but worth a try if you spend only 1 night at the Hostel. The alternative is to eat instant noodle. The room have two double-bed. Since, it was week-days, I have the whole room to myself. For NT700, it was great value. I was fortunate to view the sea of cloud in the evening and morning. If you truly wants a peaceful place and good transport service, the Alishan Youth Hostel is highly recommend during the weekdays.

Very beautiful scenic mountain view right in front of the hospital; nice dinner; nice bed. But a little hard to get there without a car.

"Do I need a YH membership card?" - Yes! Card must be shown upon arrival. Membership can be purchased at our center. A non-member will be charged in additional 15% fee on arrival.
"Do you provide bed sheets?" - Yes, they're included in the rate.
"Do you serve breakfast?" - Yes, they're also included. Breakfast time from 7:00 till 9:00 am.
"Do I need buy a Alishan Forest Recreation Area ticket ?" - Our center is located in halfway up of Alishan National Scenic Area, it's a much more large area included many scenic places which worth visiting. But if you only focus on watch sunrise or take Forest Railway, you will need buy a ticket to enter in Alishan Forest Recreation Area, which is on the top of Alishan National Scenic Area.
"Until what time do you hold my reservation?" - For ensure the occupancies of our center, we only receive bookings via www.hihostels.com. We keep it till 6 pm, if you don't show up at all, we'll charge your credit card the amount of your first night's stay.
"How early do I need to book?" - The earlier the better. Our busiest months are February, March, April, July and August. You can make appointments maximum three months in advance.
